Strollin'

Hi there, I'm joining again a challenge at Words & Paintery , well I must say that I am not an Autumn or Winter girl, but I do love the Autumn colors. So therefore this challenge was perfect.

Well it take a looooonnnnngggg time before I finish all my Prince pages that I want, but it doesn't matter, because they are all created with love and therefore it will take some time, sorry if you get bored of his photo's, lol, 

I added some packing paper behind the photo and some orange netting from oranges behind the photo. A piece of fabric was sprayed with orange and brown ink spray. I added leaves around and created gold accents with mica powder. The metal flower and butterfly were first added with some gesso and afterwards sprayed with brown, red, yellow spray ink. The feathers were just sprayed with red, brown and orange ink and at the chipboard piece "beautiful" I added some gold mica powder as well. Finished with some stickers for the title , some wooden pieces and a golden bow. 

For the title I used the song "Strollin' " , thought this would be perfect with the photo;

"Close the shop, let's take a ride, strollin', strollin' 

Take a break from 9 to 5, we could have fun just strollin'

It's so great, so great to be alive, rockin' , rollin', oh yeah.............."

Creative Embellishment September Challenge

I'm on a roll creating lately, lol. I've got so many inspiration lately. Unfortunately my personal photo's far behind with scrappin' , I still got inspired by Prince's music and it feels like that just have to create with his photo's instead of my own, for some reason. So here's a wonderful challenge that's going on at Creative Embellishments ;

So here's the inspiration photo to use :

And here's what I did with it. I started with a white background and added some white fabric where I sprayed some blue and white mist on and some blue acrylic paint. Then I stamped with a brick stamp all over the page , and stamped some music notes and my new record stamp. On the chipboard pieces I first added a layer of gesso , then I inked it with blue ink and finally added some glitters and some bling. Added some flowers around and some dewdrops. Finshed my page with some washi tape and stickers for the title.

I used a photo of Prince and Mayte for this one and chose the song; Saviour

My page was inspired by the blue colors and gears.

Words & Paintery Challenge

Hey you all, sharing a new Prince page with you all today and submit it for the current challege at Words & Paintery.

So here's my page. I started with a white background and added some watercolors and mists on it in purple, red and blue. Then I stamped lots of butterflies all over. On a star stencil I added red acrylic paint, added the photo on it and two bling circles. Finished with some flowers, gears and wooden squares. 

Well since I create lot's of Prince (& Mayte) pages, I was inspired with a song a again. This time it was P-control. It's worth it to read his lyrics if you don't know them. Some of them are autobiographic and some of them has some interesting messages in it. So if you like to see more of my Prince pages you can always check my "Prince" section on my blog.

Blog Hop

Hi dear blogreaders,

You arrived from Maya's blog on here, so here's my page which was ofcourse inspired by my alltime hero Prince. I already have created many layouts all inspired by his music. For this bloghop I was inspired by the song : Sign o' the times.

I used lots of sprays on it, love to work with them and it's always fun to mix them up and see what color it will turn out. I used orange, turqoise and pearl sprays on this one and added some water too. For the mask of the clock I used distress ink orange and turqoise. Finished my page with some chipboard, flowers, bling and stamps. Here are some close-ups:

So I hope I've got you inspired to create a project and use one of the songs of these great artists.

Dreamin' About U

Hi creative people ! I'm sharing a page which I created today outside in my backyard. It was such a beautiful day that I took all my stuff outside and catched some sun. I came across this challenge at Mixed Media Place and the theme is: Dreaming . Well I am just a dreamy girl, lol. Well first I'm gonna show you my layout and after that I will share the beautiful dream I had a little while ago.

Maybe you don't know me yet, but I am a huge and dedicated Prince fan. I'm still mourning about his death, so I started making layouts with my favorite songs, just as some kind of therapy. Well you might think I'm a little crazy because I'm still mourning about a popstar, but he was my hero since I was 14 years old (1984) , it's not only his music and his looks, but I loved his personality, although I didn't knew him. I create lot's of pages too with photo's of him and his first wife, which was so beautiful. They were the perfect couple, just so sad things didn't work out the way they had hoped. 

 The second thing that you might think I'm a little crazy is that I had a dream about him. Yes I know what you all thinking now. But please let me explain. I always have been a spiritual girl, but I have never dreamed (although I dream every night and remember every dream) about Prince or other famous people. There mostly appear people in my dreams who I don't know. Well I had a very special dream about five weeks after he passed. I had cried a lot of tears then and couldn't watch a concert or interview without crying. My dream was as follow:

I was standing all alone in a small theater and it was all dark.

Then suddenly a spotlight went on on stage, and Prince was standing there,

dressed in a black suit, looking the way he looked between 2007-2011.

He pointed at me to come on stage , which I did,

Then he hugged me and I suddenly woke up with one of his songs in my head

"Call my name"

At the moment I woke up I had this calm feeling coming over me, and it felt like he told me that everything was okay.

The usual dreams I have , I never have any physical contact with anybody and I never speak.with anyone

But this hug felt so real, I really could feel it, it was beautiful.

After that dream I didn't had to cry as much as I did before, I still cannot believe that he is gone, but I now know that I have to accept it, because he told me so.

I found somebody who explained my dream and this is what she told me;

It was a "healing dream" , a dream that will help you to go on with difficult things.

Prince is reaching out to us, but only the ones who are willing , receive a message. He was a spiritual person as well. The way I felt afterwards was exactly what it supposed to be, he told me that he was okay and everything was fine and I don't have to worry. About the song she said; Anytime you want to talk or need him, just call his name. And the last thing she said was; you had a real visitation.

Well that was the most beautiful thing I could ever dreamed of. I know some of you will still think I'm crazy, but I also do know that if there are spiritual girls who reading this, will exactly understand how I feel, and that this dream was very special. For me it was the first time to have a "healing dream" experience and I will cherish this forever.

More Purple Layouts

Hey there, updating my latest layouts about my purple hero. 

Sleep Around; 

"Do it like she like it

So your baby don't wanna sleep around" 

Great photo of Prince and Mayte. This song came into my head immediately, I started with some vintage photo ink, first I sprayed water in the middle of the page and then sprayed the vintage photo mist and turn the paper round and round, added a piece of brown cardstock add the photo with a piece of lace to it and some metal embellishments. Finished with some brown lace and flowers.

One of the earlier songs; Uptown

That's where I wanna be...." 

Because of the look of this photo I thought I had to create a more masculine page, so therefore I used the chipboard circles and added some silver paint to it, I stamped some stars and added some glitter to it. Finished with a piece of mesh, some black glitter swirls, glitter fabric piece and some metal pieces, the silver piece under the photo used to be a belt, lol, I hoard everything what is broken and cannot be used anymore, lol, still like the old school music , the funky ones too and I think he looked so cool back then. Well I think he always did, lol.

Probably a more famous song for most of you. This is from the movie Purple Rain, I love that movie, I have watched it several times lately, can't get enough of it. I still knew why I fell in love at the age of 14 , I still do, loved his curls then , his smile, eyes, the lacey clothing, boy I was complete in love back than, and still am !

I started with some purple paint and stamped with a toilet roll on the page. For the chipboard industrial lamp I first added a layer of gesso then I added purple mist and purple mica powder, when it dried I added a layer of glossy accents to it. On the fabric behind the photo I added some pearl brads, finished with some flowers and other purple embellies.

I was dreamin' when I wrote this

Forgive me if it goes astray

But when I woke up this mornin'

Coulda sworn it was judgment day

The sky was all purple

There were people runnin' everywhere

Tryin'2 run from the destruction

U know I didn't even care

Another oldie to share, gosh didn't he look fabulous ?! Love that purple coat and the big bunch of curls,  they are just asking to be played with, lol.

I stamped the title with foam stamps and silver paint, Found some cheap glitter fabrics they were perfect for the photo, the bling supposed to be the same as on his coat. The chipboard piece was added with a cover of silver paint and some silver glitter. The quote I found in my stash and it perfectly replies how I feel about this man; 

"for it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart

it was not my lips you kissed, but my soul" 

And another Prince and Mayte page, they were just the perfect and most beautiful couple I think, real soulmates so sad all things turned out to be different.

The only thing I did on this page was spraying some pink and brown mist with water, added a piece of wallpaper behind the photo, some pink lace, doily, metal embellies, straw, some flowers and pearls. 

A Million Days

I came across this moodboard challenge at Scrap Africa and saw the color purple !! Well I didn't have to think what to do with that moodboard. Since I started to make an album about Prince I knew I will find a photo which will be perfect for the moodboard. I'm not only scrapping his photo's but also the ones of him and first wife Mayte, I just loved them together, such a beautiful couple they were. Because I saw the butterflies on the moodboard I searched for a photo of the two of them what would fit the moodboard and I did find it. When I created pages about him I always be inspired by his songs, for this page I used the song A Million Days , I know many of you will not know it, but he has written a thousand songs and lot's of them weren't even realeased yet.  But this one was in 2004, the lyrics of this song hit me, many of his songs we're written autobiographic, think this one too, and probably it was because of the divorce of him and Mayte, but not sure. I used purple and turqoise mist on my page and stamped different sizes of butterflies on it, finished it with flowers, bling, glitters and punched butterflies.

Words & Paintery Challenge

Hi, when I finished this page, I came across this challenge at Words & Paintery  and thougth, hey let's give it a try

Here's the page I created. Still inspired by Prince's music, still after more than 30 years I love this man and his music. I started to read all song lyrics and I know now that if you really want to understand his life, you have to read those lyrics, because lot's of them have a message or are even autobiographic. It maybe sound strange that after 30 years I started listen more to the lyrics, but probably because I still am not able to accept his sudden death and I want to figure out if I can learn something from his songs. Yeah I know, I am a weirdo, lol. 

The song for this page "Rock 'n roll love affair" is from his last cd from 2015 and it's such a great song while driving in your car, turn the music volume on to LOUD and sing your lungs out with the lyrics. To me just a happy song, nothing autobiographic in this one, just one with a great rock'n roll beat. 

And like I always do with my Prince layouts, I put a few lyrics with it, so here you go;

Cool and America

Hi there, sharing two more Prince layouts with you today. This first one is "Cool" which is a song that Prince wrote, but he actually wrote it for The Time, altough he did performe this song himself as well sometimes. I feel in love with this song when I saw a concert from 2014 in Paris. Looking at that concert made me feel happy, he was still healthy then and danced like crazy, lol. Whenever I'm sad, I turn on this song and it always put a smile on my face. 

I worked with my new dylusion sprays on this page, love to explore how they work and mix together, bought lots of new mediums lately, so lots of exploring to do.

My second page is the song "America" which is some kind of patriotic song. First I wanted to uploaded it for my American friends on July 4th, but because there were a lot of shooting incidents last week, I uploaded it the end of the week. Prince had many quotes, one of them is: It don't matter the color, we are all family............ and I am so agreed with that. He always fought for equal rights, it's so sad that lot of people still look one way.

Three more Prince pages to share

Hi everyone, I was on a roll with my Prince layouts, I've got so inspired by listening to his music and looking at photo's, that one time a song and a photo pop into my head and I have to create right away.

So finally again an 80's song, for some reason I have created more pages with newer songs, don't ask me why because I am a fan since 1984 !

 But finally here's my tribute for Purple Rain, the first song I ever heard and I immediately got hooked on this man and his music. Purple Rain was the first song I heard and it was the last song he every played at his last concert, I still can cry when hearing the first tunes of it, it also brings me back in time, the good old 80's, when we led a carefree life back then. I think it was the best time ever to grow up as a teenager, at least I am having good memories.

The second song I had to create with (sounds stupid but it always looks like some voice in my head tells me what song to use next). Can't help it , but I had to create a page with Mayte again, love her as much as him and both of them as a couple. I think she was his greatest love, the only one he wanted to start a family with. 

The song is from the Batman movie and it is a duet with Sheena Easton, be sure to listen to it.

And another Prince and Mayte page, usig the song: She gave her angels, pretty pretty song, and this photo was perfect I thought. Using my new dylusions spray on it, love how it turned out. Exactly the way like it was in my head. This page has turned out a little artistic I think.
